WIB(ought) for Spring

Hi Everyone!

I've been silent for a while, school has been keeping me very busy. But after going through two hemispheres of winter, I'm just about to jump out of my skin to put on some lighter colours and fresh looks!

Spring is starting to appear in Edinburgh, in fits and starts--some of the earliest flowers are starting to show their heads and, *gasp* it's no longer dark at 4pm. Of course, I'll miss the best of it--I'm headed back to Australia for their autumn.

Because of this, most of my spring shopping is coming in the form of accessories. I found some Clarks oxfords (in a cream colour) to widen my shoe collection (which was decimated by plantar fasciitis), and a scarf and necklace from Next. I'm in love with the shoes--they are SO comfortable. I think the necklace and scarf will go well with some of my cream sweaters.

Gorgeous shoes, I also have a very reduced shoe collection now due to plantar fasciitis. I will be hunting for a pair of these :)

Flowers?  Really?  We'll be bitterly cold again next week!

Still, we all know that spring will come!  Love your new items, FB!

I love those shoes, they have a great man vibe that is so classy. Enjoy the peep of springtime while you can, FB!

What fresh and pretty spring finds! I could see them all with a cream sweater and navy skirt or trousers. The shoes are great; as a fellow PF sufferer, you have my sympathy.

Such pretty purchases for spring! I bought a few things this month, too. And now I'm anxious for warm weather so I can wear them.

    Thanks everyone!

Debra, I can really recommend these. They have padding in both the heel and the toe area, and weren't too shallow or narrow for my insole. They also had several colours to choose from. I just fell in love with these, and was partially inspired by Angie's love for her Zara booties.

Beth, don't get me wrong, it's still cold here, but the little daffodil-like flowers are far braver than I am!

Love your finds!! I am thinking of adding creams and whites to my closet too for spring. I like the freshness and crispness it brings :)

    Love your scarf!

Lovely items. Are the Clarks shoes the Hamble Oak ones? I have been on the lookout for them since I tried them last year.

  • froggiebecky replied 10 years ago

Yes they are the Hamble Oaks (in stone). My local shop had several colours to choose from, but this was the last pair they had in my size (US 6).

Very nice purchases! The oxford shoes look to be very versatile.

Flowers? What are flowers? I have a vague remembrance of some colorful things poking their heads out of the green grass, but it's been such a long time since I've seen any.....and for that matter, what is green grass? Oh yeah, the ground isn't always white...

These are lovely! They all look like they'll go so well together as part of an outfit.

I've recently started buying some more oxford style shoes as well due to foot problems (and needing to alternate my heels with flats more often). I haven't tried the Clarks but I highly recommend Born's oxfords. Great cushioning with arch support, well made, SUPER comfortable. I've got a pair in distressed metallic gold and one in distressed gray/black. I can wear them all day (even without my custom orthotics) without them exacerbating the arthritis in my left foot.

The scarf is gorgeous and the shoes look really perfect as far as oxfords go.  Smart to focus on accessories!
