WIW: Angie's Tube Skirt Formula

So I took everyone's advice on styling this tube skirt, and I think I'm starting to figure it out. Many, many thanks to everyone! I went looking for a lower-contrast top, with structure around the shoulders, and not a knit. I found this pale citron top (the label says it's green, I think it looks yellow), with fluidity. It's comfortable, and perfect for the summer-disguised-as-spring we're having at the moment.

And now I can add to the "list of things I never thought I'd wear": a garment with "tube" as the primary descriptor. :)

FAB!! Skirt looks fantastic on you. And with your lifestyle, this is a super style. It packs like a dream. And you can play around with tops. I'd say this is still high contrast (the colour values are far apart -- pale top, mid-to-dark bottom). But that's okay. It works.

Another ah ha! This time as in ah ha, you have nailed it. I like the v neck top here because it suits the strong dramatic lines in this pairing. I'd like to see the black top with this skirt too.
    You look fab, FroggieBecky.

The top is incredible with the skirt. Fluidity is the word in deed. You look easy breezy.

Wow!  This is workin' for you!  I really like the color of the top with this skirt - although, I agree with Suz - I would definitely call this high contrast color between the top and skirt - but like Suz said, it works!  Nice job!  And don't you love it when you find a new silhouette that you can wear?

    Thanks everyone!
I'll give the black top a go, but I'll probably only keep it until I can replace it with one of my choosing. I was also thinking of maybe going with a navy top. I think both will end up being workhorses this spring (what little I'll have of one)!

I missed your skirt earlier, but I love it!
Styled with the semi-tucked plain top it really is a stand-out.
